2020 has been an extraordinary year full of incredible challenges. Throughout these challenging times, we’ve proudly witnessed community members stepping up to offer support and assistance to their fellow citizens when it is needed most. Inspired by these selfless actions and initiatives, we have decided to make a major change to our prestigious Citizen of the Year award category for 2020. 

Instead of honoring just one citizen this year, we’d like to recognize ten (10) outstanding community members who have stepped up during this difficult time and engaged in society through leadership, service and a genuine sense of caring and responsibility for others. As Mr. Fred Rogers once said:

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”

The new award category, "Community Champions" sponsored by D.F. Richard, recognizes ten (10) “helpers” of the greater Somersworth "Falls" community for their outstanding leadership and support throughout the pandemic.
